01
Why were high-intent alerts missing the moment?
The brand released every alert as soon as inventory changed, including overnight updates and shallow restocks that sold out before most subscribers opened the message. Product titles were truncated, variants were unclear, and customers could receive several alerts from the same category within a few hours.
02
What changed in the alert logic?
We introduced minimum inventory thresholds, local quiet-hour holds, and category-level frequency caps. Each text named the product and relevant variant before the link. Customers who had purchased a substitute or entered checkout were suppressed, and deep restocks received a follow-up only when sufficient inventory remained.
03
What moved during the eight-week window?
Alert conversion increased from 2.2% to 4.1%, an 86% lift. Revenue per message rose 58%, and duplicate-alert complaints nearly disappeared. Total sends declined 18%, demonstrating that the improvement came from inventory confidence and relevance rather than more volume.
